Key West offers many accommodation choices for visitors from Key West Hotels, Key West Motels, Inns, Guesthouses, Vacation Rentals, Lodging and More. Key West, also known as the Southernmost City, has such a wide variety of accommodations, including top brand hotels, motels, as well as intimate bed & breakfasts, inns & guesthouses, that every visitor to the Keys can fulfill their favorite type of lodging merely by visiting our online listings. Visitors are advised to consider carefully what style of vacation they want to experience on our island, and consider the people who will be in their party.

Only a few of our excellent lodging establishments are actually located on or near the beach. Ours is a very small island, so even in the heart of Historic Old Town you are not far from a beach.

Hotels and motels are best known for their standard amenities consistent with other cities such as on-site parking, swimming pools, in-room telephones, TV, and private bath. Inns are best known for their personalized service, complimentary breakfast, charming architecture, and convenient locations. Virtually all accommodations have air conditioning and ceiling fans.

The Historic District of Key West is Old Town, with narrow streets and limited parking. A few inns have on-site parking while others arrange for guest parking nearby, sometimes at a nominal charge. While hotels and motels located on the north side of the island, which we call New Town, have complimentary parking lots, guests should be aware that Old Town is not within walking distance. Reasonably priced shuttle service is available and some hotels provide complimentary guest transportation. Those who choose to drive downtown should be prepared to pay parking fees of $10 - $20 per day to park in Old Town.

The official motto of the City of Key West declares that we are all "One Human Family," and we are proud of our diversity. There are several guesthouses that are exclusively for gay and/or lesbian visitors. Most welcome all visitors, and ours is an extremely Gay friendly town with a large gay and lesbian population.

Room rates vary throughout the year. They are generally higher from Christmas until the end of April, and lower during the summer months. Special events, such as our annual Fantasy Fest celebration and holiday weekends are generally the highest rates. Good deals can sometimes be found during fall and in early December, a time when the island is less crowded and our sunny days are less humid than in summer.
