The Florida Keys holds many forms of accommodations to suit a family or a couple on their honeymoon. Each area of the Florida Keys is unique and offers a variety of lodging from waterfront villas to camping.

Key Largo accommodations

Key Largo has several good chain hotels and motels, as well as the small, funky type. Of course the latter are much less expensive and can be a lot of fun. Some of them even include a continental breakfast every day.

Most of the accommodations here are either on the Florida Bay or the Intercoastal Highway, so most of them give you the advantage of being able to view the gorgeous sunsets.

Islamorada Places to Stay

With its closer proximity to the mainland, Islamorada has a variety of hotels , motels , inns and guesthouses. There are also many fine resorts, most of them right on the water, and there are campgrounds and RV parks too. Bed and breakfasts are not very common, but there are a few. Islamorada offers some vacation rentals too. Check with the vacation rental agencies listed for their inventory of rental homes and condos available for your vacation.

Marathon Lodging

In the Marathon area you are right in the middle of the Keys, but away from everything else. There are a few guesthouses here, some chain hotels, some very nice resorts, and a plethora of clean, inexpensive motels. The great thing is that waterfront accommodations are standard here; you have to pay big for a waterfront stay anywhere else in the Keys. There are also a couple of camping facilities available for regular camping as well as RV hookups.

As the atmosphere here is much less formal than in Key West, children are welcome and pets on vacation are more common.

Big Pine & Lower Keys Vacation Accommodations

The Lower Keys are really a bedroom community for Key West. People who enjoy the activities that only Key West can offer often find accommodations outside of town, where it is quieter and lower prices prevail. There is something to be said for having dinner or partying downtown and going back to a quiet walk under the stars away from all the hubbub.

The Lower Keys doesn’t have an abundance of motels, but there are a few. There are several waterfront Bed and Breakfasts on Big Pine, some of them spectacular. Good campsites and fishing camps are also available.

Key West Accommodations

Key West offers many accommodation choices for visitors to the Southernmost City, including top brand hotels, brand name & independent motels, and intimate bed & breakfasts, inns & guesthouses. Visitors are advised to consider carefully what style of vacation they want to experience on our island, and consider the people who will be in their party.
