We would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who participated in the Ugliest Website Contest! Without the Ugly Website submissions and numerous votes we received from our wonderful Facebook fans, this contest wouldn’t have been a success.

We held this contest not just to call attention to ugly websites, but also to inform businesses about what makes a website effective. Although the look and feel of a site is important, other major factors include how easily the website is found in search engines, usability, navigation, and layout/presentation of information. All of these things work together to bring visitors to the site keep them there until they find what they are looking for, and direct them towards your goals for the website.
