If you plan to stay anywhere in the Florida Keys outside of Key West, you will need automotive transportation. Almost everything is close to the highway, and it is extremely busy. Some companies provide airport transportation from Miami International Airport and Marathon Key Airport by shuttle.

Taxis and shuttles are available for short and long distance travel. Some taxi services even provide for food delivery from restaurants that provide take out meals.

There are a few bicycle rental businesses and you may want to bike along some of the interesting bicycle paths that go through areas of ecological interest. In addition, Federal Funding has been appropriated for a bike path the entire length of the Keys along the Overseas Highway. However, construction is not complete in many areas, so you need to be ready to think fast. Long distance biking enthusiasts need to do their research before making such a trip.
